Retro Fake – Prolog
“Retro Fake”: Series about fake vintage football shirts.
It's not a secret that the football shirt market is flooded with more and more fake retro jerseys. Unfortunately, they are getting better and better every year and harder to identify, even for more experienced collectors.
This whole process motivated me to start working on the "Retro Fake" series, which aims to increase the awareness of the football shirt community about vintage pieces.
Originally, I planned to put everything in one article, but from week to week the materials for this, let's call it "guide", began to grow at an extremely fast pace. So I came to the conclusion that the best idea would be to illustrate the entire problem on specific examples of retro jerseys. Each text will be devoted to one shirt.
Throughout the series, I intend to focus primarily on shirts from before 2000. The goal is to cover most manufacturers, I would not like to limit myself only to the most popular ones, such as Adidas or Nike. All details that are key to verifying the originality of a particular shirt will be analyzed.
I hope that thanks to the "Retro Fake" series, at least a few people will not waste money on buying a non-original classic and at the same time will increase their knowledge about retro football shirts.
