Home jersey used by the German national team during the European Championships held in England in 1996. It was a sensational tournament performed by the players of Bertie Vogts. They won their group with seven points without conceding a goal (Czech Republic 2-0, Russia 3-0, Italy 0-0). Then in the quarter-finals they dismissed Croatia (2:1) and in the fight for the final they defeated the hosts of the tournament England after a series of penalty kicks.

In the final at Wembley, Germany had to face the Czech Republic again, which they had already beaten once in this tournament in the group stage. After an extremely exciting match, Oliver Bierhoff scored the golden goal for the title of European Champion for Germany in extra time.
