Brazil 1998-99 away (S)
Away jersey used by Brazil during the 1998 World Cup in France. Canarinhos, who defended the championship from 4 years ago, were on their way to repeating this success.
Brazilians took first place in Group A with six points and then managed to defeat Chile (4-1) in the round of 16. In the quarter-finals, thanks to two Rivaldo goals, they emerged victorious from the clash with Denmark (3: 2) and the last obstacle to overcome on the way to the grand final was the Netherlands. In an extremely fierce semi-final battle at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, the promotion was decided only by penalty kicks, which were performed better by Mario Zagallo's charges that day.
Brazilians at the final failed to the hosts of the tournament, who won 3-0 after two goals from Zinedine Zidan and one from Emmanuel Petit.
